As a small museum we have made several attempts to make our museum as accessible as possible for the entire public. Due to limited funds, historic buildings and space limitations, some areas can not be reached if you need mobility assistance. These are: the second floor of the main building; the second floor of the pioneer home and the school house.
By June 2025, there will be videos of these areas added to this page so the displays can be seen.
Here is a brief description of these areas:
1) Second floor of the main building: At the top of the stairs is information of the 1984 tornado that came through Isle, There is a display of local made quilts, Soo Line information, Textiles, Logging Camp life, Items made in Isle, Pioneer Doctor, Old dishes.
2) Second floor of the Pioneer home has 2 small beds and toys showing life in 1900
3) The School House is in 3 sections. Half is a single room school house with all the desks, maps etc and then the others are each 1/4 and cover postal services and the other communications as phones and teletypes.
Please ask any volunteer staff to get you more information if needed. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
