About

Making Change Possible while remembering the past

Founded in 1983, Mille Lacs Lake Museum & Historical Society has made tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and volunteers in the Mille Lacs Lake Area.  The core of our work lies in the continuous passion and dedication to keeping history of the towns around the lake known.

Please join us by supporting our efforts to preserve the memories of our past.

Help us celebrate 40 years!

Our Services

1

Team Work

The MLLHS is a member of the Mille Lacs History Alliance, an informal venture made with the Mille Lacs County Historical Society in Princeton and the Milaca Area Historical Society in Milaca. The three groups cooperate to staff and provide displays for the Mille Lacs County Fair and to consolidate relations with the county.

2

Preserving the past

We are working on following the MN Museum preservation guidelines, to document and categorize all of the items in the museum, from towns around the lake.  This will allow the history in the area to be preserved accurately for the future to enjoy

3
